Der erste Link handelt ja nicht explizit von besagtem Sensor. Es geht um eine Fahrzeugvorstellung wo Keith (Flyin´ Miata) Fragen anderer User beantwortet.

My theory is they tried to simulate a ride-height sensor by analyzing the accelerometer data at standstill. Remember, TPMS is also required by law but Mazda tried for a couple of years to simulate TPM sensors by analyzing wheel-speed data so it's not without precedent.

The 2018 wiring diagram shows the extra steering sensor on cars with AFS (adaptive front lighting system).
It also indicates that the ride height sensor is present on 2018 cars. Those without AFS have a separate auto leveling control module and AFS cars integrate the auto leveling with the AFS, but they both use the sensor.

So, interesting notes about the headlights. Some 2019 cars do not have the auto leveling sensor, some do. It's not apparent from the workshop manual which ones are which. The wiring diagram seems to indicate that some AFS cars have it and some don't.
More interestingly, it also appears this was the case for all NDs. So in every year, there are some that have the sensor and some that do not. The manual is not US-specific. The 2016 US parts fiche does not have two different parts for the left lower link, which it would if the sensor was not on all US-model 2016s. I do not have access to 2017-19 fiches.

"For the headlight auto leveling system, there are two types, one with the auto leveling sensor and the other without the auto leveling sensor. "
I have confirmed that our 2019 GT-S RF does NOT have the sensor but our 2017 GT RF does.

Interesting! So it doesn’t seem to correlate with bilstein/tokico, V1/V2, ST/RF, or AFS. Does your 2019 have the mounting tab on the control arm? Mine does not.

The control arm does not have the mounting tab, which is why I checked the parts fiche for two different control arms.

Laut dieser PDF hat der SAKURA sowohl Kurvenlicht als auch automatische Leuchtweitenregulierung 
Wenn man die Bilder aus Post #99 by S.L. & Post #101 by Oggy (rechtes Bild) vergleicht fehlt bei Oggy die automatische Leuchtweitenregulierung tatsächlich. Bei ihm ist lediglich der Halter für den Stabi zu sehen.
Ich meinte eher den offenen Bereich.
Ich kann leider nicht gegen eines dieser Konzepte anstinken da ich ja sowohl ST als auch RF fahre.
